I'm working on developing a new toy for children with autism. The toy is a musical device that allows children to play music with their parents. No musical knowledge is necessary. The objective is to help children experience social interactions through music. In doing so, I'm hoping it will help train their social communication skills in other contexts.
As part of the project, I'm making a short video to help people understand what it's like to have autism in social situations. My plan is to illustrate autistic people's experiences with social situations in a short, animated video.
So, could you please write an answer to the following question, your story will then inform what I animate.
What is it like to be in a social situation with autism? A social conversation? A classroom? A walk in a park? A coffeeshop? Any experience you have, please tell me here.
Discuss getting a diagnosis, educational help & electronic devices and apps for autism.
