Accommodating grandparents in routine

Postby me3 » Tue Dec 27, 2016 9:46 am

My nephew is 5 years old and diagnosed with autism. He is mostly non-verbal but has been attending an intervention kindy for the past year with good results. He can use Keyword signing and say a few words. I'm trying to figure out the best routine for him in relation to spending time with his maternal grandparents. (His Mum passed away 2 years ago)

Can anyone offer advice if we are better to go with fortnightly visits or monthly visits? Both would be for ~ 3 hours and Dad would not be there during visits. My nephew spent a lot of time with his grandparents before his mother died so there is a good connection but I'm not sure if he will "forget" if he only sees them once a month.

All advice greatly appreciated!!
