Memorial Day Barbecue Lemon Pepper Steak

A nice barbecue steak recipe for the holiday weekend:


2 tablespoons canola oil (plus extra to coat barbecue grill)
3 tablespoons soy free tamari
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 teaspoons red wine vinegar
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 red onion, sliced
1 tablespoon cracked black peppercorns
2 teaspoons grated lemon peel
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon dried basil
1-3/4 pound sirloin steak, 1 inch thick

Add oil, tamari, lemon juice, vinegar, garlic, onion, peppercorns, lemon peel, mustard, and basil in a small bowl. Mix well. Place half of mixture in a baking dish. Place sirloin steak in baking dish on top of mixture. Spread remaining mixture over top of steak. Cover and marinate for four hours.

Lightly brush barbeque grill with canola oil. Grill steak to preferred doneness, turning once.
