Homeopathy

This forum helped us incredibly whether or not to give homeopathy a shot and which homeopath to pick. There are lots of information regarding remedies, dosages, etc. but we could not find much information about what to keep track of or what behaviors/symptoms to pay attention to while using remedies. We think that what we have done worked well so we decided to share our experiences hoping it will help parents who are considering homeopathy.

We decided to go with John Melnychuk and we have seen incredible results in the last 3 months. Our son has improved so well that we still cannot believe how an angry, reserved, tv/ipad addict non-verbal 2.5 year old has become a joyful little guy.

Since homeopathy works differently and we did not know what to expect, we wanted to make sure we did not miss anything. We sat down and created a 3 page document to include the following before our initial meeting with John:

Family History (Father, father's side, mother, mother's side) (***)
    Our Son's Medical History (**)
Body Appearance (large head, thin build, etc.) (**)
    Likes (*)
    Dislikes (**)
    Fears (*)
    Sleep (**)
    Problems (*)

The stars next to a section indicate how much John was interested in knowing about that topic. Overall, he asked lots of questions regarding our genetic heritage and gave us his opinion on what might have happened to our son. We got our first remedies along with a supplement schedule.

After we returned, we prepared two documents to keep track of our son's progress:
1- Weekly Tracking - We wrote down all problems and related things we saw in our son such as lack of eye contact, sensitivities, level of interest in other children, obsessions and so on, and came up with 30+ issues. We graded these every Sunday night, which took 20 to 30 minutes.

2- Daily Tracking - We used this document to keep track of his daily diet, remedies-supplements, nap and night sleep length, stool, and added notes for his mood and how his day went by. This took 10 to 15 minutes every night.

When we had our first follow up appointment, we created a document from our weekly and daily tracking documents:

    Highlights for the month
Monthly Summary (remedies/supplements used, symptoms (if any), sickness)
New Good (improvements for the month)
    New Bad (bad behaviors surfaced)
Discussion (included the things we forgot to tell him and our questions)

We send this document to John few minutes before our follow up call and let him glance over it. We think we give him the best information we can this way and make the best use of our time with him.

We still have a lot to go but we now can say that we are on our road to recovery now. Also, record keeping helps us realize how far we have come and how much our son's "big" issues of the past are either gone or negligeble now.

We hope these help to get yourself ready for the initial appointment and your ongoing communication.

@ERenner, thanks for sharing your approach.
I realized we haven't been rigorous about tracking changes - and this has not helped narrow down the target remedies ( homeopathic + biomed).

I realize the post is dated, but I' am curious about how your son is doing now, and how long you persisted with homeopathy.

Thanks.

Did you mixed homeopathy with other biomed treatments like liverlife, gfcf, etc?

I think the original post you are responding to is 5+ years old so most likely you won't get much feedback.

With that in mind who can give a good resource on homeopathy - we'd like to learn more?

You are right, I didn't realize it was a 2012 post.

Homeopathy worked for us too! We were with John Melnychuk for 6 months and his remedies DID work. I believe with the right homeopathy you can recover a child from autism. However, we stopped using homeopathy once we tried GcMAF kefir. I will be posting a recipe for homemade GcMAF kefir here: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=34296

Homeopathy was expensive and my son would get very angry/unwell for 2 hours, then he would get much much better. These 2 hour periods were hard for me. With GcMAF kefir, I can control the dose and make it just right for my son to feel a little bit irritable but not too much. This way we can go outside, go to school without major meltdowns. Another plus - goat colostrum powder is healing my son's gut. He is able to better tolerate different foods.

We stopped homeopathy because it has exactly the same effect as GcMAF kefir. Giving both was not an option as my son would get super duper cranky.
So, if you're not sure about homeopathy or don't have enough money, you should try GcMAF kefir. Our first homeopathic consultation was $600, the cost of making homemade GcMAF kefir is $100 per month or less...Good luck
