Does anyone know that if your kid has gut-problems that contribute to autism, if a stomach virus (popular this time of year) could cause regression as it will probably inflame the GI tract for a while? I am concerned about this because my little guy had a very strong virus 4 times in a 4 month stretch 2 years ago (he was 1 1/2 yrs old then) that I often wonder if it caused the GI issues we are fighting today. Luckily we have not had a "bug" since then, however I am anxious as winter is here and the "bugs" are more popular now.
PS Can a probiotic help ward off the dreaded stomach bug?
