Confused father of ASD kid

Postby bvssrs » Wed Aug 09, 2017 11:51 am

Hello
Our son is diagnosed with mild to moderate ASD when he was 18 months and have been checking with several doctors to confirm if it is indeed the case. We are consulting all allopathic doctors like pediatricians & developmental specialists and all suggested ABA therapy, Speech and OT. He is now 3 years old and going to ABA therapy 4 days/week from 6 months. He is also suffering with Juvenile Rheumatoid arthritis since he is 18 months old and is on steroid ever since.

Though it is hard to say what benefits we got out of ABA our challenges (not using a conversation, inability to use 3 words, not able to concentrate on one activity for 10 secs, unable to draw a straight line, making mmm sound, jumping repetitively) still remain. We are giving him potty training from past 2 months and he sometimes says potty to communicate.

We started him on GCFC diet almost 10 months ago though not too strict. We feed him rice, lenthil, cooked vegetables, wheat chapatti (tortilla), salt biscuits, organic chips from Costco and try to keep him away from sweets.

Now as the challenges remain and therapy is not an answer to all sorts of problem we are looking for alternatives. After promising videos on youtube we started getting in touch with classic homeopathy doctors who are still evaluating his case. Same time we are also getting in touch with DAN/biomedical doctors. At the same time I am hearing sequential homeopathy has better response than classic homeopathy. I feel that homeopathy if works, is better than biomedical which requires strict diet changes and supplements. All these are expensive $1000/month and I am not sure which one to choose.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks!
