TEN THINGS-Every Child With Autism Wishes You Knew

Postby merry » Sun Jun 25, 2006 8:34 pm

A very long title but a very short (108 pgs) book with a wealth of knowledge written from the child's perspective. It is a unique, interesting and easy read for those who don't have a lot of time to read but want to keep up.

A friend of mine took the list of 10 things with a couple of sentences to explain each, photo copied it and passed it out at a PET meeting at her child's school where they don't have much knowledge of autism. She did this along with a little "autism 101" class for her child's immediate teachers and aide's. It was very helpful for generating more understanding.

 Oh, the author is Ellen Notbohm.

Purchased and read this book today. Wow! I will definately get her other book as well. Great read, very "on point" and we will be donating a copy or two to the school resource teachers.
